Episode 3 - Shu Ha Ri

Bob and Josh discuss the concept of Shu Ha Ri and how it applies to agile adoption.

See us live, and in person!!!

Both Bob and I will be at a couple of local events here in the southeast part of our country over the next couple of months.  Here is a quick recap of where we will be and when.

Our first event is Agile Coach Camp 2010 the weekend of March 19-21 in Durham.  It is an OpenSpace event so we don't have scheduled talks, but we are both looking forward to the event as we share our experiences and learn from other talented agile coaches.

Next, Bob and I are speaking at the RTP area's AITP (Association of Informatoin Technology Professionals) meeting on April 8th.  I will be speaking before dinner, and Bob bats clean-up with the longer after-dinner talk.  Bob's talk is entitled "Are you agile enough?" and mine is "Becoming and effective agile leader (A.K.A. Chicken Training)".  Please join us, but don't worry if you can't make it as I plan on posting our presentations here.  Hopefully it will be recorded and I can post a video feed of  both talks.  We'll have to wait and see what the setup is, but we will post something!  You can find the information about this event here: http://www.rtp-aitp.org/events

One last item: I'll be at AgilePalooza in Atlanta, GA in Atlanta, GA on February, 26th.  I am not speaking, but I am quite excited about their "Advancing Agile" track.

If you see me or Bob at any of these events, please reach out and say hello!

Hey, where'd my Meta-Cast go?!

Three weeks with no Meta-Cast.  WTF you ask?

We tried, I swear we did.  Bob was a late scratch for our scheduled recording session last week, so I made a call to the bullpen and was lucky enough to get a virtual Mariano Rivera.  James Avery of www.tekpub.com fame joined me on a recorded Skype call where we talked about starting large projects and companies, my bad Ohio grammar, and goal setting.  Unfortunately, we had a few too many connection issues that caused the recording to drop audio at key times in our discussion.  Over the past week, I tried cutting it together in hopes of at least putting something up, but it just wasn't going to happen.  I blame James' s sketchy wireless connection.  :)

However, rest assured that Bob and I are recording at our normal time next Wednesday.  So never fear, Meta-Cast 3.5 will be up as scheduled next Wednesday night.  Thanks for sticking with us during this little hiccup!

iTunes update

That's right, less than 24 hours later, we are approved and up and running on iTunes!  That seems like the gold-standard for podcasts, but I wonder how much of a difference it will make in our listener count.  We shall see, I guess...

Audio file hosting and iTunes update

Blogger-based rss feeds apparently don't play well with the iTunes feed validation engines, so we have shifted the podcast's audio files to a podcast hosting site (podbean.com).  What does this mean to you?  Not much...

Our existing feed on this site will still contain the podcast audio files, but it will also start to take on a more "bloggy" feel.  So, if you want to stay in touch and see what we have planned and also keep up with the podcast, keep your feed-readers pointed to the same spot.  However, if you want to only subscribe to the podcasts, please update your feed-reader to point here: http://metacast.podbean.com/feed

Regarding iTunes: now that we are hosting our podcast elsewhere, we have been able to successfully submit our podcast to iTunes.  As you may know, this involves a review process that takes some undetermined amount of time.  You can count on us updating you when we finally make it on iTunes.
